Terms of Use for ToneQuest

These Terms of Use apply to the ToneQuest mobile app.
ToneQuest is a Thai tone learning app published by Daan Henderson under the Daanville name.
By downloading, accessing, or using ToneQuest, you agree to these Terms of Use.

2. What ToneQuest Provides
ToneQuest is an educational app designed to help users learn and recognize Thai tones.
The app may include lessons, quizzes, pronunciation examples, bundled audio, text-to-speech pronunciation support, trophies, statistics, and other learning features.
ToneQuest is a learning tool. We do not guarantee any specific language learning result, level of fluency, test result, or educational outcome.
3. Free and Paid Features
ToneQuest may include free features and paid features.
Paid features are unlocked through a one-time lifetime unlock purchase. The exact features included in the lifetime unlock are shown in the app at the time of purchase.
The lifetime unlock is not a subscription.
4. Purchases, Payments, and Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
We do not directly process payments, payment card details, store account details, billing addresses, taxes, refunds, or payment methods.
Refund requests, payment issues, family sharing behavior, store account issues, and tax handling are managed by Apple App Store or Google Play according to their own rules and policies.
ToneQuest uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage purchase entitlements.
5. Restore Purchases
ToneQuest may provide a restore purchase function or may otherwise use Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat purchase validation to restore paid access where technically possible.
Purchase restoration may depend on the store account used, the platform, device settings, store availability, RevenueCat entitlement data, and the technical limitations of Apple App Store or Google Play.
6. No User Account
ToneQuest does not require a user account.
Learning progress, statistics, trophies, settings, onboarding state, and similar app data may be stored locally on your device.
If you delete the app, clear app storage, switch devices, or reset your device, local app data may be lost. Purchase entitlement restoration is handled separately through the relevant app store and RevenueCat where available.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse ToneQuest.
You must not:
- copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly make available substantial parts of the app or its content without permission;
- attempt to bypass paid features, purchase validation, entitlement checks, or technical restrictions;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app except where permitted by applicable law;
- use the app in a way that disrupts, damages, or interferes with the app, stores, devices, or third-party services;
- use ToneQuest for unlawful purposes.
8. Intellectual Property
ToneQuest, including its design, code, lesson structure, text, exercises, graphics, audio, icons, and other content, is owned by us or used under appropriate rights.
You may use ToneQuest for your personal learning.
You may not copy, publish, sell, license, distribute, or create competing products from substantial parts of ToneQuest or its content without permission, except where allowed by applicable law.
9. App Updates and Changes
We may update ToneQuest from time to time.
Updates may add, change, or remove features, lessons, content, design elements, technical functionality, or compatibility requirements.
We aim to keep ToneQuest useful and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device or operating system version.
10. Third-Party Services
ToneQuest may use third-party services such as Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat for app distribution, purchase handling, purchase validation, and entitlement management.
Your use of Apple App Store or Google Play is also subject to the relevant store terms and policies.

When contacting support, please include the app name, your device type, operating system version, app version, and a short description of the issue.
For purchase-related questions, please mention whether the purchase was made through Apple App Store or Google Play.
13. Disclaimer
ToneQuest is provided as an educational app. Thai pronunciation, tone rules, examples, explanations, and learning materials are provided for learning purposes.
While we aim to provide accurate and helpful content, language learning can involve regional variation, pronunciation differences, and different teaching approaches. ToneQuest should not be treated as the only source for learning Thai.
14. Liability
ToneQuest is provided with reasonable care.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, loss of local learning progress, loss of profits, device issues, store issues, or problems caused by third-party services, operating systems, device settings, or app store policies.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not allowed by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or mandatory statutory consumer rights.
15. Termination
You may stop using ToneQuest at any time.
We may restrict or discontinue access to parts of the app if necessary to protect the app, comply with legal requirements, enforce these Terms, or address misuse.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when ToneQuest changes, when store requirements change, or when legal requirements change.
